What causes Shoulder Pain?

What most people call the shoulder is a combination of several joints, combining tendons and muscles that allow wide range of motion to the arm. An injury to the shoulder can be due to manual labor, playing sports, or even by repetitive movement. In certain other cases, illness such as Diabetes can also ring pain to your shoulder. In many cases, shoulder pain can be treated at home. Depending on the cause, Physiotherapy may be necessary.

Treatments You can try

Applying ice to the shoulder, using an ice bag or towel wrapped in ice, for 15 to 20 minutes, three or four times a day for two to three days can help reduce pain. It is also advisable to use pain-relieving ointments and sprays in case of elevated pain. If the shoulder pain becomes unbearable, irrespective of whether it is an acute or chronic pain, visit a Physiotherapist for expert opinion.
